Connection between distracted driving, age and fatalities

Did you know that in 11% of the fatal accidents involving drivers under 20 years old, at least one driver was reported as being "distracted." This means - presumably - that the wrongful death rate in these auto accidents could be cut by 11% if people would just stop to get where they are going before sending an email or text, or making a phone call. I have written about the dangers of texting while driving in Oakland before - a message that seems to be going against the historical trend . . .
